Now, let’s get started.
1. Identify & Understand your Niche
Before you get to designing, you have to understand that T-Shirt Design Ideas Are Not The Same As T-Shirt Designs.

T-Shirt Ideas are abstract – they are concepts that could be written in a few words or in a simple sketch (you need to have a special notebook with you all the time, in case an idea of design pop up).
T-Shirt Designs are finished and actually real, print-ready artwork (PSDs, Ai files or PNGs).
So always T-shirt ideas comes first, designs comes second.
But what if I don’t have any idea or blurry ideas but still want to create a t-shirt design???
Here’s how to find your Ideal niche or niches….
If you’re having trouble finding a niche, think of what you’re knowledgeable about, or love to do! Hobbies, events, holidays, specific interests, Daily life activities, or anything else that has the potential to draw the attention of a community can become your niche market.
Take a moment in a private area, bring your notebook in front of you and just ask:
What I love to do? You will get many answers write them all down but don’t rush take your time on each one, write the first one for example: swimming.
Why I love swimming? Dig deeper in this one, write all the answers you get, for example: I love swimming because it make me feel like a shark! Here you go you got an idea
Niche: swimming Idea: swim like a shark ( you will get many ideas)
Before jumping into designing you have to search for your niche and understand it very well! Since you chose something you love then the research part becomes easy (you need to know who you sell to).
You can make a list of your interests and then further dig deeper with the same method we used before:
Sports
Businesses
Family
Couples
Pets
Food
Gardening
Culture
Christmas
A lot of Niches got so saturated and you can’t dive into them since so much competition not to mention if you are just starting out! for example: Unicorn niche.
If you love unicorns and want to create a design for it, a good way is to CROSS NICHES, for example: Unicorn and baseball or make unicorn shark design, get back to your list that you made earlier and you can mix niches and have many ideas.
Don’t forget the power of puns!
Funny puns, wordplay and witty saying are loved by everyone and they are great for T-Shirt design ideas.

2. Look for t-shirt design inspiration
Let’s say you’re passionate about cats and want to target other cat fans. so here are some questions you should start answering:
Is there a specific breed that’s popular now? ( just a simple google search will give you the answer)
Is there a quote or saying that your audience would appreciate? (You can find here: google, Pinterest, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, cat forums…)
What kind of cat-themed t-shirts are already on the market? ( search in google, amazon, eBay, Pinterest, other online stores or just when you go shopping in a clothing store)
You can then build an online community around your niche, generate engagement, and start discussions. Get an understanding of what resonates with your audience through polls and comments, where they can share their thoughts.
Ok – that’s all I got on this one – so until next time, See you at the Top.
